Controller and scope
Cricket Companion is operated by TechRex, a sole proprietorship of Gummadi Ramesh Babu based in Pandalapaka, Andhra Pradesh, India. This policy covers the Cricket Companion Android app, its Google Play listing, related in-app content, and support communication sent to support@techrex.in.
Two modes: offline scoring and optional online features
You can use Cricket Companion in two ways. In offline mode you score a match without any account; match setup, players, ball-by-ball scoring and results stay on your device. In online mode you sign in with Google to (a) publish a live match with a shareable public link so viewers can follow the score in real time, and/or (b) save and view your player statistics across matches. Online mode is opt-in; you can keep using offline scoring without signing in.
Offline data on your device
When you score offline, match records — team and player names, ground, overs, ball-by-ball events, extras, wickets, commentary and results — are stored on your device by the app. This data does not leave your device unless you choose to publish the match or sign in and sync statistics. It can be removed by deleting matches inside the app, clearing app data in Android Settings, or uninstalling the app.
Google Sign-In and account information
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares with the app the basic profile information you authorise — typically your Google account identifier, email address, display name and profile photo. We use it to authenticate you, associate a claimed username with your account, display your profile in the app, and support features such as public match sharing and player statistics. We do not receive your Google password. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's own privacy policy.
Public match sharing
If you publish a match, the match information required to render the live scorecard for viewers — team and player names, ground, match setup, ball-by-ball events, score progression, commentary and result — is uploaded to our backend so viewers with the public link or match code can see it. Anyone with the link or code can view the published match until you stop sharing it or it is otherwise removed. Before publishing, please confirm that the player and ground names you have entered are appropriate to make public.
Player statistics
If you sign in and choose to save statistics, batting, bowling and match-participation figures derived from your matches are associated with your authenticated profile and stored on our backend so you can view them across matches and devices. These figures are calculated only from data entered manually by the scorer. They are provided for entertainment and personal record-keeping, are not verified or authoritative player records, and are not used to rank, rate, profile or evaluate you for any decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect. You can request deletion of your statistics and account at any time by emailing support@techrex.in.
Device permissions
The app uses network access for online features and may use additional Android permissions (for example, notifications) only where a feature requires them. Permissions can be reviewed and revoked in Android Settings; revoking a permission may disable the feature that depends on it.
Advertising
Cricket Companion may include third-party mobile advertising (for example, Google AdMob) to help support the app. Advertising SDKs may process technical identifiers such as your Android Advertising ID, coarse device information and app-interaction signals for ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping and fraud prevention, in accordance with the advertising provider's own policies. You can reset or opt out of personalised advertising in your Android settings under Ads.
Third-party services (subprocessors)
Cricket Companion uses (a) Google Sign-In for optional authentication, (b) cloud hosting and database infrastructure for public match sharing and statistics, (c) transactional email for account-related messages, (d) crash-reporting for stability, and (e) mobile advertising SDKs where advertising is enabled. Each provider processes only the data required to deliver its service and is bound by its own privacy commitments.
Data sharing and sale
TechRex does not sell personal data. Published match data is shared publicly because you have chosen to publish it. Other information is shared only with the subprocessors listed above, and with authorities where we are legally required to disclose information.
Retention
Offline match data is retained on your device until you delete it. Published matches and player statistics linked to a signed-in profile are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, and can be deleted on request. Aggregate logs used for security and reliability are kept on a rolling basis.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the DPDP Act 2023, GDPR / UK GDPR and CCPA / CPRA), you may request access to, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or portability of the personal data linked to your Cricket Companion account, and you may object to processing or lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. To exercise any right, email support@techrex.in from the address associated with your Google account.
Children
Cricket Companion is a general-audience local cricket utility, not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through the app, contact support@techrex.in and we will delete it.
Google Play Data Safety
Our Google Play Data Safety declarations mirror this policy. If a release changes what the app collects — for example, if we add new SDKs, new online features or new advertising options — we update the Data Safety form and this policy accordingly.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes are indicated by the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. For privacy questions or right-exercise requests, contact support@techrex.in. Postal address: TechRex, Pandalapaka, Andhra Pradesh, India.
